The Day Unit provides care on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for up to 12 patients at at time.

Referral to the unit is from health professionals as well as patients themselves. An assessment of needs takes place prior to commencement within the unit and gives patients and their families the opportunity to meet with some members of the team, see the building and ask any questions. A plan for care is developed through the discussions at assessment.

Volunteer drivers bring patients into the day unit for 10am, returning them home again at 3.30pm. The multidisciplinary team offer treatments and therapies to help with pain and symptom management, increase mobility and well being, nutritional support, as well as ongoing nursing assessment.
