Equality and Diversity: Accessible Information

Equality and Diversity

Accessible Information makes it easier for people with Learning Disability (LD) to understand information. Accessible Information is important to people with LD and it helps them to:

  • Communicate
  • Make choices
  • Understand their rights
  • Understand information
  • Have a say

Accessible Information is important for the providers of services to people with LD to help them:

  • Provide a quality service
  • Meet legal requirements
  • Be inclusive

People with LD find it hard to understand complicated written information. Accessible information uses photographs, symbols, CD/DVD to make documents and information clear and easy to understand.

NHS Grampian has produced a number of Accessible Information resources, which are available by clicking this link.
