Healthy Living - Physical Activity

Also in Physical Activity:

NHS Grampian and its partners are working together to help people in Grampian to enjoy the benefits of a physically active lifestyle. Being more physically active can improve your physical and mental health whatever your age, size or physical condition. You are never too old or too unfit to start being more active. The greatest health benefits are likely to be gained by inactive people who start to take regular exercise.

30 minutes a day of moderate intensity physical activity a day, can make a real difference to your health.

  • Try to be physically active on at least 5 days of the week. If you feel that a 30 minute session is too long try doing 2 x 15 minutes or 3 x 10 minutes of activity instead
  • Don't work too hard but make sure you are breathing more heavily, perhaps getting a bit sweaty but are still able to carry out a conversation

Helping Children Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle

NHS Grampian promotes healthy lifestyles to children through the delivery of the Kids in Condition (KIC) Programme. Positive Play Times is a project within KIC that aims to make 'Play times' more enjoyable for the whole school throughout the promotion of positive play.
